Huawei announced the brand’s exclusive credit card during the launch event of the P40 line this morning (April 8), following trends from companies like Apple. The novelty was disclosed by Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group.
All details regarding the Huawei Card have not yet been released, only that physical and virtual versions of the cards will be made available. In addition, NFC support for approach payments will be provided. UnionPay, China’s largest card transaction company, is behind the initiative.
A number of advantages
It was also promised that the same security system used in the company’s smartphones will be extended to the solution, which will bring travel benefit programs, such as access to different locations from train stations and airports.
To encourage customers to join, the first annual fee will be free, and the second may be discounted depending on the amount spent on purchases. Finally, special plans for purchasing applications will be offered, as well as cashback on transactions with Huawei Pay, the brand’s digital wallet.
For the time being, the date of making the Huawei Card available on the market has not been announced.
