The Dimensity 820 processor, which supports 5G technology that MediaTek will release today, has been introduced. The processor manufacturer is trying to make 5G more accessible on non-flagship phones. Dimensity 820 features formally challenge Qualcomm’s processors.
MediaTek Dimensity 820 features appeared
Calling the new 5G chipset as Dimensity 820, MediaTek will offer high performance gains. The TENAA listing indicates that the processor will reach 2.0 GHz from 2.6 GHz in Dimensity 800.
Dimensity 820 features, which are slightly below the performance of the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 processor, also seem quite powerful. It has a quad-core 7 nm Cortex-A76 with a processor frequency of 2.6 GHz and a total of 8-core processors, 2.0 Ghz quad-core Cortex-A55. On the graphics side, it is supported by a five-core Mali-G57 MC5 graphics unit.
Dimensity 820 also offers support for 4K HDR video recording and HDR10 + media playback. MediaTek’s APU 3.0 AI processing unit for facial recognition and other functions is also included in the processor. In addition to gaming performance enhanced with MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0, screens with up to 80 Megapixel camera resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate are also supported.
In addition to dual SIM 5G support, Dimensity 820 supports Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 5 (a / b / g / n / ac).
Compared to a very powerful processor with built-in 5G technology, which is identical to the features offered by Qualcomm on Snapdragon 765 chips, the processor is expected to be officially introduced today.
