The Manchester United manager has set himself the task of strengthening the backbone of the team after many seasons of ignoring the problem.
United needed a defensive midfielder and a creative force in midfield, and they did that in the summer when Casemiro and Christian Eriksen joined them.
However, due to Donny van de Beek’s long-standing injury and the fact that the future of Fred and Scott McTominay remains uncertain, the Red Devils need a new midfielder.
Olmo, United’s target
One of the players who was advised to move to the “Theater of Dreams” is Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.
This season, he scored three goals and made four assists in all competitions and even impressed the Spanish national team at the World Cup, scoring one goal and giving another assist.

According to The Peoples Person, the Spanish national team player has already received an offer from the 20-time champion of the English League, and his contract expires in 2024.
According to Christian Falk, who writes a column on transfers for CaughtOffside, United’s interest in Olmo is genuine and they can make a move for the versatile midfielder.
“Of course, Manchester United are still watching him.
Leipzig hopes to sign a new contract with Olmo. He hasn’t signed a contract right now, so they’re a little nervous because he might want to change leagues.”
A difficult race for Olmo
However, any transition of the 24-year-old football player will be complicated due to the interest he has aroused among the clubs of the highest league of Europe.
Chelsea were interested in the possibility of acquiring the Leipzig star, while Barcelona were close to acquiring him last summer. Bayern Munich are also interested in signing Olmo.
His versatility is one of the traits that Ten Hag highly appreciates. Olmo can play at number 10, being a real substitute for Bruno Fernandez, while he is equally skilled on both flanks.
Ten Hag is aware of the need to bring a creative spark, but it remains to be seen whether the 40 million euro man is the answer the Dutch manager is looking for.
