Manchester United have been targeting young promising talents working in the Eredivisie since Erik ten Hag took over at Old Trafford.
In the summer, United recruited three players from the Dutch League, two — Lisandro Martinez and Anthony from his former club Ajax, and Tyrel Malasia joined the team from Feyenoord.
And despite the great animosity between the Dutch champions and Ten Hag, the manager is still looking for candidates from the league.
Karlsson among the best Eredivisie talents
According to The Peoples Person, he informed the scouts to keep an eye on new talent, and several names were mentioned on this list.
One of them was Jesper Karlsson, who came into the spotlight after a great season in the colors of AZ Alkmaar, where he scored 21 goals and gave 16 assists in all competitions.

This season was not so productive for the 24-year-old football player: four goals and three assists in 15 games in different competitions.
But that’s mainly because of a muscle injury that caused him to miss the first two months of the season.
One of the reasons why United are so interested in the Swedish national team player is his versatility. Karlsson can play all over the front line, although he prefers to play on the left flank.
According to Jeunes Footeux, he has fans both in the Premier League and in the Netherlands.
A lot of interest PL
“Karlsson remains a desirable player, especially in the Premier League. Indeed, Manchester United, Brighton, Fulham and Tottenham are very attentive to the situation with the Swede.
The Red Devils are even considering going on the offensive this winter transfer window. Please note that PSV Eindhoven is also very interested,” the message reads.
Interestingly, he could have been available on the cheap with a report stating that AZ was ready to part with the attacker for 20 million euros.
This would bring a solid profit to the club, since they bought it back in 2020 for 2.6 million euros. The Swede’s contract ends in 2026.
