A man has been arrested just one day after he allegedly struck a 74-year-old man at the Metromover, near the Adrienne Arsht Center.
The defendant is Robert Lee Ribbs, 62, a homeless man now facing charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery and assault on a person over 65.

According to the arrest report, Ribbs waited until a security guard exited the train before pouncing on the victim, Eduardo Fernández, and began to kick and hit him all over the face and the rest of the body.
Fernández’s son explained that the father was heading to his job as a parking ticket at around 6am on Sunday when the attack occurred.
Fernández had several broken bones and internal bleeding. This Friday he will undergo surgery. You are expected to stay in the hospital for at least two weeks.
