2022 was a big year for Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox. Not only did they make steps in their personal life, getting engaged, the ostentatious couple starred in the film “Good Mourning”, the musician released a Hulu documentary (which shows the wildest moments of MGK) and received an American Music Award as a favorite rock artist. It turns out that this year the singer / actor is waiting for more awards, but perhaps not the ones he hoped for. “Good Mourning” has just received seven nominations for this year’s Razzie Awards, which celebrates the worst cinematic achievements.
Not only did Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) star in the movie “Good Mourning” with his fiancee, he wrote the script and directed the film together with Mod San. In the maligned comedy about the Stoners, MGK plays movie star Landon Clash, who tries to find his girlfriend Apple (Becky Gee) after receiving a strange message from her. In addition to the nomination for “Worst Film”, the film received Razzie recognition as “Worst Actor” (Baker); two for Worst Supporting Actor (Maud San and Pete Davidson for his cameo); Worst Screen Couple (MGK and Maud San), Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.
Considering that only nine “awards” are awarded at the Golden Raspberry, seven nominations is quite an impressive feat, but, again, not in the way MGK probably hoped. At least Megan Fox avoided the nomination “Worst Supporting Actress”! The film received a terrible 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes out of seven reviews from its critics, but the audience rating is a much more indulgent 60% Fresh when it was rated by more than 100 people.
The movie Machine Gun Kelly, which was apparently inspired by a text sent to him by Megan Fox, was not awarded the most Razzie nominations in 2023. The Netflix biopic “Blonde” with an NC-17 rating won this award, collecting nine, and the gloomy remake of “Pinocchio and Morbius” from Disney also appeared in several categories.
Machine Gun Kelly hasn’t responded to Razzie’s ad yet, and there’s no word from Megan Fox either, but the pair have definitely been clapping back at their haters lately. MGK addressed his critics in his AMA acceptance speech in the category of “Favorite Rock Artist” and responded with applause after being roasted for his outfits at Milan Fashion Week. His fiancee, with her ass on her side, also confronted trolls who mistook one of her tattoos for hair and accused her of neglecting her children.
The blood-drinking couple may have more important things to do, as they’ve just celebrated their engagement year and are hopefully heading for a creepy walk down the aisle. Maybe they will have a better chance if they really leave Razi when the “winners” are announced on March 11 — the night before the Academy Awards ceremony.
