Arcane: After the success of Arcane, the League of Legends-based Netflix series, Silco is set to become a playable character in Teamfight Tactics. The information was released by Riot Games.
On LoL’s official website, the developer revealed that “for the first time in TFT history, we will be releasing an exclusive unit of the game, Silco, along with the mid-range update of Gadgets and Gadgets in February.” Although little information has been released about the character, Riot Games has already confirmed that he “will continue to lead when it comes to combat”.
As the first original unit to be added to the game, Silco had to be remade from scratch by the character design team at Riot. Usually the producer adapts League of Legends Champions for free strategic PvP, but as the villain doesn’t exist in the company’s flagship, this time the whole process was a little different.
“For Silco to stand out as the villain we know, love and hate, we are already creating his concept, rigging and animations,” said Riot in the publication. Although the news was shared early with players and fans, the character doesn’t make it to the game for approximately three months, when the Gizmo and Gadgets set receives its next update.
The developer took the opportunity to reveal that Silco is only “the first non-League of Legends unit” to make it to TFT, and that we can expect more outsiders on their way to the game. The company still leaves open the possibility of collaborations with other games, saying that “maybe some are not from Runeterra”.
Teamfight Tactics is free to play and has versions for iOS, Android and PC.
