Darwin Nunez, declared unfit to play, is not in the Liverpool squad for the match with Brighton on Saturday, he will be replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
On Friday, Jurgen Klopp said that Nunes will not participate in the Amex if he does not take part in Friday’s training, having suffered an unspecified injury.
And although the Liverpool boss does not expect the Uruguayan to stay on the sidelines for a long time, he missed out on a place in the squad to fight with Roberto De Zerbi.
Alisson, who is the only Reds player in the Premier League this season, starts in goal.
The four defenders have not changed: Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right flank, Joel Matip partnered with Ibrahima Konate in the center of defense and Andy Robertson on the left flank.
Fabinho is central in midfield, Jordan Henderson and Thiago are ahead of him, and Klopp is playing with the same trio as against Wolverhampton.
Oxlade-Chamberlain goes on the attack along with Cody Gakpo, who made his debut in the Premier League, and Mohamed Salah.
This, of course, leaves Liverpool without a recognised striker in their squad, with Gakpo likely to lead the line to allow Salah and Oxlade-Chamberlain to take up the roles they have played in recent weeks.
James Milner returns to the bench, accompanying players such as Naby Keita, Harvey Elliott, Fabio Carvalho and Ben Doak.
