Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross shared a new remix of Puscifer’s song “Apocalyptic”.
The 11-minute track, originally featured on the 2020 album by Tool and A Perfect Circle vocalist Maynard James Keenan, has been reworked by Nine Inch Nails frontman and his assistant into a new synthetic version. You can listen to it below.
The new version is part of the band’s new remix album “Existential Reckoning: Re-Wired”, which was released today (March 31).
Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon, Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens Of The Stone Age and At the Drive-In/Sparta drummer Tony Hyge also contributed songs from the 2020 LP.
“Existential Reckoning: Re-Wired” continues Puscifer’s tradition of remixing their albums, which dates back to their 2009 debut album “V Is for Vagina”.
They previously shared a music video for Karina Round’s version of “A Singularity” from the record, which was filmed and compiled by Keenan in honor of his dog. You can listen to the full album below.
At the time, he said of the video: “On October 7, 2021, I lost my muse. Deadly Little Miho has lost a two-year battle with pancreatitis and kidney disease. We thought we’d lost her at the end of 2019, so I panicked and wrote her this song. We were sure she was finished. But we were blessed with a second chance and a little more time.
“I rarely share such things. Too painful. But this one can’t be kept locked up. As I mentioned earlier, she’s been hiding in most of my vocal tracks since 2005. Every time I recorded, she was either in the vocal booth or next to her. Her sighs, her barking, snuffling, sneezing. Her jingling collar. Her squeaky toys. Usually not at the right time.”
Next month, the band is due to kick off their world tour in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the Welcome To Rockville venue on May 18, before they arrive in the UK and Ireland in June.
Then they will travel to continental Europe, where they will perform at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid on July 7. All remaining tickets for the tour can be found here.
