This month ended the era of one show “Real Housewives”. The “Beverly Hills” spin-off said goodbye to longtime cast member Lisa Rinna, who announced her departure ahead of the show’s thirteenth season. The news was met with a mix of responses from fans of the reality TV veteran, as well as from those who are not on the best of terms with her. Although the star initially released a statement about her departure, she has since shared an additional explicit reason for leaving. And, as loyal viewers might expect, there’s a bomb involved.
Lisa Rinna first expressed gratitude, confirming her decision to leave The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In a statement shared with People, she called this concert “the longest work in her entire 35-year career” and thanked “everyone at Bravo and everyone who participated in the series.” Although the media personality was already a generally well-known actress before joining the show, the program may have made her a staple of pop culture. Fans have been watching for years how Rinna makes jokes and overshadows her colleagues. However, while the sharp clapping and “epic” screaming fights were probably fun for people at home, it would seem they weren’t always ideal for the star herself.
What frankly honest thoughts did Lisa Rinna share about RHOBH?
The 59-year-old graduate of Days of Our Life openly talked about her participation in the reality show during a conversation with Interview magazine. The star said that she “fucking hates” the twelfth season of “Beverly Hills”, and explained this for several reasons:
I fucking hated this year. For many reasons. My mom died, we all know that. But this is not the main reason. The story just wasn’t told as bilaterally as I would have liked. How about this?
Lisa Rinna lost her mother Lois in November 2021 when she passed away after suffering a stroke. Later Rinna spoke frankly about the struggle after losing her mother. As for the story, which she says wasn’t told “two-way,” she’s referring to her fight with co-star Kathy Hilton in Aspen. Rinna called Hilton “great” during her interview, but stated that, in her opinion, a “smear campaign” was launched against her after the outburst. In addition, the actress spoke about the state of the RH franchise:
But something happened in the Housewives universe because of what’s going on in the world, and it affected how fans react to the Housewives world. And I just think it’s unhealthy. It didn’t work for me. It was wrong for me.
Overall, her comments suggest that starring in Beverly Hills was no longer good for her for a variety of reasons. However, there are still fans who would prefer her to stay on the show. Including Andy Cohen, the mega—producer of a very successful IP for small screens.
What Andy Cohen said about Lisa Rinna’s departure from “Real Housewives”
Andy Cohen has seen many famous personalities during his time in the RH family. However, it is clear that he recognizes Lisa Rinna as one of the most popular figures in the franchise. Cohen addressed her departure during his Sirius XM show and acknowledged (via people) that it represented a “big reshuffle” for the show. The host of Watch What Happens Live also expressed the hope that this is just a “pause” for Rinna, and compared her situation with another graduate of “Real Housewives”:
I really hope this is a pause. I hope she comes back. I really. I’ve talked about it a lot with Tamra [the judge]. Tamra eventually told me, before coming back to it, she said, “You know what? The time spent away from the show helped me as a person.” And she said: “I think it was really nice to get away, get some air and retreat.” So I just hope Lisa will cheer us up and come back.
Andy Cohen also praised Lisa Rinna for staying on the show for eight years, which is certainly important. He clearly has high hopes that at some point she will return to the bosom. Although Rinna’s comments, filled with a fucking bomb, give the impression that she probably won’t be back anytime soon.
