Paradox Interactive has announced that Life By You, its upcoming life simulator from former The Sims producer Rod Humble, will be released in early access this summer.
After being teased earlier this month, Life By You was unveiled live today (March 20).
The game will be released in early access on September 12 and will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
As for what Life By You is about, Paradox shared that the life simulator will allow players to create and follow the lives of people in the game. Players can follow their characters from a third-person perspective as they automatically go about their day, or step in to control them directly. Meanwhile, the creator’s tools and editing systems will allow players to customize the sandbox as they see fit.
In addition to game setup tools and direct control functions, Life By You also offers situation-based conversations and a large map without loading screens.
Life By You is being developed by Paradox Tectonic. The team is led by Rod Humble, who previously headed EA Studio for The Sims.
“Life by You develops the genre of a life simulator with a modern style, communication in a real language and unprecedented freedom of expression,” said Humble. “The game’s extensive customization tools provide an unprecedented level of storytelling, and I can’t wait to see what creations players will come up with by diving into early access this summer.”
Meanwhile, Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester said that the upcoming game fits well with the company’s philosophy of “we create games, you create stories.”
“We sent our community into space, back in time and around the world,” Wester continued. “Life by You brings us closer to our own lives or allows us to explore different fantasy realities.”
As for other gaming news, Zack Snyder is working on a game adaptation of his upcoming sci-fi movie Rebel Moon.
