Legacies: Through a shared post this Friday (17) on Instagram, Kaylee Bryant announced the end of her participation in Legacies. The actress, who starred for four seasons with the original cast, will continue her other film and television projects, leaving a broken story in the production derived from The Vampire Diaries.
Launched by mastermind Julie Plec in 2018 as part of regular stars, Bryant brought witch Josie Saltzman to life, reprising a role that had already been guest-starred in The Originals and The Vampire Diaries.
Now, leaving it after almost four years marks the end of Saltzman’s trajectory in the middle of the ninth episode of the fourth season of Legacies, a chapter that opened the gap between the two parts planned for the current cycle.
“As a fan of The Vampire Diaries universe, thanks to The CW and Warner Bros. for giving me this opportunity,” wrote Bryant. “I am so grateful to the fans and will love them forever and ever for welcoming me and accepting me in this world. Josie has helped so many beautiful humans feel comfortable in their sexuality. I hope her legacy lives on so that one day everyone will feel free to love whoever they want, regardless of gender.”
Bryant’s goodbye was also commented on by Plec and Brett Matthews, who have followed the young actress since her first minutes acting in the stories of Hope and the Salvatore School. According to the duo of producers, the doors are open for the star of the series and the possibility of returning to play the witch Saltzman is not ruled out in the future.
“While it is heartbreaking to say goodbye to such a beloved member of the Super Squad, we wish Kaylee happiness and success. We are looking forward to seeing her career grow in the future, and our door at Legacies will always be open for her, because the world is simply a better place with Josie Saltzman,” they concluded.
