The dance punk band, which also includes Joanna Feitman and J.D. Samson, reunited for the first time in 11 years last summer at the This Ain’t No Picnic festival in Los Angeles.

Le Tigre started their first concert since 2011 with 1999’s “The Empty”. In a set of 16 songs, the band also performed “Hot Topic”, “Phanta”, “TKO” and “Deceptacon”.

According to Samson, Le Tigre was asked to reunite for the 2020 release of This Ain’t No Picnic before it was cancelled due to COVID. In an interview with Spin, Samson said, “We felt it was very important for us to reunite before the 2020 election. We felt that the relevance of our music would really trigger something important in our community. And obviously it was canceled because of COVID. We just kept wanting to present the material again.”

“We went in completely different directions after we stopped giving concerts in 2005. JD became a professor. I’m an art critic. Kathleen was involved in various non—profit projects, and then starred in the movie “Julie Ruin”, and then reunited in “Bikini Kill”, – added Feitman. “We had more than ten years to become individuals again, and then get back together, bringing more to the project.”

At Primavera Sound 2023, they will be joined by a huge line-up, including headliners Depeche Mode, Blur, Kendrick Lamar and Rosalía, as well as the likes of Halsey, FKA twigs, Skrillex, St. Vincent, The Moldy Peaches and Calvin Harris.
