The news about the OnePlus 8T has been around for a while. With the announcement of the smartphone’s introduction date, official posts started to come from the OnePlus front. Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, made one of these posts and confirmed an important information about the phone.
Speaking to TechRadar site, Lau confirmed that the OnePlus 8T will feature a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Stating that the size of the screen will be 6.55 inches like the OnePlus 8, the CEO pointed out that the engineers have spent a serious effort to develop the screen.
The OnePlus 8T’s screen seems to stay higher than its predecessor on issues such as smoothness, color accuracy and maximum brightness. The phone’s screen getting an A + grade from DisplayMate also supports the development mentioned.
Covered with 2.5D flexible glass, the screen will have a maximum brightness level of 1000 nits. Lau claimed that the screen will also be at the top of the industry in terms of color accuracy. The announcement of the presence of 2.5D glass means the OnePlus 8T will have a flat screen.
It is also noteworthy that Lau compared the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 Pro in the interview. This confirms, albeit implicitly, that OnePlus will only introduce 8T on October 14.
