As part of the filming of one of the best sci-fi films of all time, Sam Neal and Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park have become friends since their stay on dinosaur Island. After Neil was diagnosed with cancer, Goldblum spoke about the recent health problems of his co-star and friend who arose during the filming of “The Reign of Jurassic World.” As you might imagine, these feelings are as warm and friendly as one would expect, which is typical for a couple of professional troublemakers.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, Jeff Goldblum was asked about Sam Neal, who hit the headlines with his memoir “Did I ever tell you that?” as well as his cancer diagnosis. The man who helped Ian Malcolm come to life in the 1993 sci-fi milestone made the following statement about it, which also revealed how long the actor had known about his friend’s condition:
He shared this with us in advance. He’s been in constant contact with me, and, well, he looks fantastic, he sounds great. I hope he’s as healthy as a horse now. I just adore him.
It is not surprising that during the “exciting” reunion of Goldblum with his colleagues in Jurassic Park, such secrets will be revealed. True to his word, speaking about the friendship that was born thanks to Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil still maintain close contacts.
As if that wasn’t enough proof of their strong friendship, the various videos they shot together during the filming of Jurassic World Dominion sealed the deal. Take a look at one of their beautiful piano duets shown below:

Aside from the shenanigans, the news that Sam Neil is currently doing well and has no cancer is a welcome update. Without a doubt, part of the recovery process was facilitated by the fact that he had friends like Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern by his side. With a loyal support base and the ability to dive into work to distract himself, Neil certainly looks fantastic, as Goldblum says, and the future looks rosy.
Maybe someday the boys will sit down at the piano in the studio and record an album together. Friendship has led to stranger things, and having a Goldblum and Neal jazz record to look forward to would be something exciting. In the meantime, we’ll have to watch these legends continue their prestigious acting careers in the name of entertainment and personal enrichment.
Jurassic World Dominion is currently available for streaming for those who have access to a Prime Video subscription. Meanwhile, Jeff Goldblum will next be seen in Wes Anderson’s “Asteroid City,” a limited edition of which starts in theaters on June 16. As for Sam Neal, his next project will be the movie “The Portable Door”, which will be available for streaming on MGM+ from April 7.
