It Became Known About The Setting of The Third Season of “White Lotus”

It is reported that the action of the third season of “White Lotus” will take place in Thailand.

The first two seasons of Mike White’s HBO series were filmed at the Four Season resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively. Continuing this trend, it is expected that the third show of the show will take place in one of the four main hotels of the hotel chain in Thailand, which are located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle.

Four Seasons resorts in Thailand are scattered across cities, countryside, jungles and beaches, which gives the new season plenty of opportunities to play.

Earlier, White hinted that the third season will take place in Asia and is dedicated to “death, Eastern religion and spirituality.”

“In the first season, the emphasis was on money, and in the second — sex,” White said in a clip attached to the finale of the second season. “I think the third season can be a satirical and funny look at death, Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like another round at White Lotus could be a rich tapestry.”

Production on the third season has not yet begun, and Variety reports that White is still exploring certain locations in Thailand. The cast has also not been revealed yet, but given that the previous two seasons featured mostly brand new ensembles, fans can expect a lot of new faces to appear in the main roles.

In February, White’s friend and fellow “Weirdos” co-star Johnny Knoxville said he would like to play a major role in the new season, and also suggested that the upcoming episodes could take place in Tokyo, Japan.

“Mike White is a very close friend of mine,” Knoxville told Vulture. “We were in Tokyo together. I think that’s where the next… oh, I’m not giving anything away. I can call him again as soon as [the second season] is over.”
