Apple introduced the 2020 model iPhone SE, which is described as affordable, last April. For the 2021 version of this smartphone, there are not many strong signs for now. According to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone SE will not be renewed, at least in the first half of 2021.
The basis of Kuo’s prediction is an analysis of the camera lens market. Four of Apple’s suppliers are said to be in fierce competition to supply components for the iPhone 13 lineup. It is stated that this situation may affect the preparation and development processes of the 2021 model iPhone SE.
According to Kuo; Taiwan Genius Electronic Optical, one of Apple’s suppliers, is likely to lose some of its orders to Taiwan Largan Precision, Semco and one of the new players in the market, Sunny Optical.
The article does not provide information about the possibility of the new iPhone SE coming out in the second half of the year. However, it is known that Apple devotes the second half of the year to flagship devices. Therefore, it does not seem likely that the new iPhone SE and iPhone 13 series will be introduced at the same time.
