Last year, the bankrupt Chinese smartphone maker Gionee introduced a new entry-level device. At a budget-friendly price of $ 115, the device comes with a 5,000 mAh battery.
Gionee, one of China’s long-established smartphone manufacturers, suffered a major financial crisis last year and could not survive the bankruptcy when it was added to its founder’s gambling addiction. Despite a series of misfortunes, the company has sought to be reborn from its ashes. The device is remarkable for an entry-level model.
If we talk briefly about the technical features of the device; The Gionee Steel 5 features a slim-bezel display with a water drop notch, a 2.5D bevel, a 6.2-inch width and a resolution of 720 pixels.
The device, powered by an unknown eight-core chipset, has two different 4 and 6 GB RAM options and two internal storage options of 64 and 128 GB.
On the back there is a 12 MP main camera and a depth sensor of 2 MP and on the front there is a 13 MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording support. The back of the camera seems to have a quad camera set up, but there are two camera sensors and two LED flashes.
One of the most striking details about the device is the 5,000 mAh battery. Although the 10W fast charge support is insufficient for a battery of this size, at least the battery life will be satisfactory.
The device comes out of the box with the Android 9 Pie based AmigoOS operating system. Finally, the device has a dual SIM card slot, both with 4G LTE and VoLTE support.
The device has a price tag of around $ 115.
