Instagram Launches Label For Black Entrepreneurs In Brazil

Instagram announced this Wednesday (17) the launch of the label “Black Entrepreneurs” in Brazil, which is available for commercial profiles of the service. The novelty comes to facilitate the search for companies managed by members of the black community on the platform, helping to put them in evidence.

Reinforcing the social network’s ongoing commitment to support the black community around the world, the new label was developed in partnership with more than 20 Brazilian entrepreneurs. They had the mission of evaluating the purpose and the name given to the tool, according to the company.

Some commercial accounts managed by black entrepreneurs had early access to the resource, which began to be released last Thursday (11) in partnership with Feira Preta, the largest festival of black culture in Latin America. It has now been made available to all interested profiles.

One of the people who participated in the testing of the tool, the owner of the Afro accessories brand Opô Yalojá Giselle Alves, said that the seal will help to highlight its origins even more. “I make a point of stressing that my accessories are of black and African culture. This factor is extremely important. We need to reinforce our identity”, highlighted the entrepreneur.

How to activate the label?

Those interested in activating Instagram’s new Black Entrepreneurs label must perform the procedure by opening their business profile settings. Under “Edit Profile” you will find all information about functionality in the “Company Diversity Information” section.

After checking the details regarding the seal, tap “Begin”, enable the switch “Show Black Entrepreneur Company Label” and tap “Finish”. At the end of the process, the profile will display the label, gaining prominence in collections, guides and other resources that value black entrepreneurship.
