Social media platform Instagram is working on a new concept for its stories feature. Accordingly, the company aims to implement the vertical flow system used by TikTok, one of its closest competitors. The company also uses this feature for Reels.
Instagram brings vertical streaming for stories
According to TechCrunch’s report, Instagram will mimic TikTok’s design with a new vertical streaming system for stories. The company wants to provide a more fluid user experience with vertical scrolling to include in the stories. In addition, one of the goals is to get one step ahead of the competition with TikTok.
According to the screenshots shared by a user named Alessandro Paluzzi, the system continues to be developed. This shows that Instagram aims to present the feature to its users as soon as possible.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, who previously participated in the podcast program Decoder, mentioned that 2020 is a year when they make plans to achieve many goals for them, and 2021 will be the year they will strive to fulfill these plans and simplify their experiences. In addition to this change that the Stories feature will undergo, another feature, IGTV, is not expected to receive any changes.
