Sydney Sweeney has reached a whole new level of popularity over the past few years. Having started her career with short supporting roles, this Spokane native now has her own production center. Moreover, she is the new face of one of the world’s largest brands Armani Fragrances. However, the path to fame that she now possesses was not easy.

Before she found fame in the industry and received two Emmy Award nominations, she was just another struggling artist. As a teenager, the “White Lotus” actress was very careful about her appearance. And from a very young age, she decided to become an actress; hence, she took special care of her appearance. Last November, she spoke about her self-doubt in an interview with GQ magazine.

The teenage years are among the most difficult in a person’s life, as they go through serious physical as well as emotional changes. Most of us are vulnerable and very attentive to our body and appearance in adolescence. We try to look our best, and some of us are willing to do things that make us look good at all costs, and so is Sweeney.
She told GQ that as a teenager she suffered from severe acne, which caused her to apply toothpaste all over her face, which caused her to have a terrible rash. The actress also mentioned that she had boobs much earlier than her peers, and it made her feel excluded. Her lack of confidence in her body had increased so much that she was ashamed to change in the locker room.
Sweeney didn’t want anyone to define her solely based on her amazing body. The 25-year-old wanted people to know that she was something more; therefore, she studied very hard and played sports as best she could. “I’ve done everything that people wouldn’t think I’d do to show them that my body doesn’t define who I am,” Sydney said, talking about the hard work she’s done.
And maybe that’s why Sweeney has experience in many areas. In addition to being a talented actress, she is a nerd, a professional MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter, is engaged in pottery, and also repairs cars. It would not be a mistake to say that her teenage insecurities eventually made her well-rounded.
