Dave Bautista, who is often compared to the muscular god of the Hollywood “Rock”, is one of the most successful celebrities. Rising from the wrestling ring, this WWE star also attracted the attention of viewers on the big screen. After the role of Drax the Destroyer in the “Guardian of the Galaxies” franchise, he entered the list of the best action heroes in Hollywood.

During his career, the American actor has proved that he is a dynamic performer. Fans can certainly bet that this superstar can be trusted with any role, since he has previously demonstrated his flexibility as an actor in several films from “Ghost” to “Dune”. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to see Bautista play this iconic character in the DC universe.

Dave Bautista does not consider himself a suitable person for the role of a DC Comics villain.

In a recent interview with Insider, Dave Bautista said that he turned down the role of the villain Bane from DC comics. Over the weekend, the actor met with media representatives to promote his upcoming film “Knock on the Hut”. During the conversation, he told about his meeting with director James Gunn and how he realized that he was not suitable for the role.

“I have to say I appreciate it because I don’t want to play a character that I can’t do justice to,” the “Blade Runner 2049” star explained.

He continued that since the new head of DC Comics is starting all over again, it would be right if he chose young actors for these roles. We all know that the DC universe is undergoing major changes after Gunn planned to reboot it completely. So the 54-year-old took a step back because he doesn’t know if he can handle the physical part.

However, with the advent of a new era in the DC universe, fans may lose a lot of their favorite stars. But they can still watch this talented superstar in the movie “Knock on the Hut”, which will be released in theaters on February 3. This psychological drama by M. Night Shyamalan will take viewers on a terrible vacation on a remote island. Actors who have joined Batista on the cast list include, among others, Kristen Quee, Rupert Grint, Ben Aldridge and Jonathan Groff.
