How does Billie Eilish relate to the history of the Iggy Pop Award?
James Newell Osterberg Jr., better known as Iggy Pop, in his interview with the magazine shared some very interesting untold stories. He is one of those people who proved themselves when half of today’s artists were not even born yet. Initially, he was the vocalist and lead lyricist of The Stooges, but since 1997 he has had his own fan base. This year he started his solo career and released several albums.
In his Classic Rock interview, Pop mentioned that he hates the Grammys and asked his manager to avoid their calls in 2020. The reason the 75-year-old artist hates the Grammys is because he thinks they want to put him on display in their museum. now that he is old and is a classic icon.

And that’s why he didn’t want to accept their reward for life achievements. But then, as he says, he was contacted by a “lady with a Grammy,” and he finally talked to her and told him something that made him accept the award. She said the Grammys wanted him to accept the award because “without you, there wouldn’t be Lil Nas X or Billie Eilish,” she said in her phone conversation. She mentioned that pop music is a direct link to the best artists that the Grammys are going to award this year.
Pop recently released his latest album Every Loser, which is also his 19th studio album.
