Hogwarts Legacy has already broken Twitch’s record with the most live viewers for a single-player game ever on the platform, despite a boycott by streamers.
Many players decided to boycott the game because of its connection with Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling, who was accused of transphobic comments, which she denies.
Since then, a website has appeared tracking which Twitch streamers decided to go live while playing a video game, so users can unsubscribe from them for doing so.
However, in the midst of the Hogwarts boycott, Legacy crushes it on the live streaming platform, displacing Cyberpunk 2077 for the title of the “most popular” single-player game.
The legacy of Hogwarts has gained more than 1 million viewers on Twitch
On February 7, the day of the release of early access, “The Legacy of Hogwarts” was viewed by more than 1.2 million people, judging by real-time statistics from the catalog.
As you can see below, this figure is more than twice as high as Just Chatting — usually one of the largest on the site — and 12 times more than Fortnite.
At the time of the creation of this screenshot, xQc was the leading online streamer of the Hogwarts Legacy with over 108,000 live viewers. Earlier in the day, the Canadian made boycotts for scolding another streamer, Girlfriend Reviews, which caused them to cry live.
As for other popular channels, IIIoJuan had over 80,000 views, LIRIK had almost 40,000 streams, and NICKMERCS ranked fourth with 37,000.
Since then, the game has broken the record of a single-player game broadcast on Twitch. Reaching 1.2 million, he officially broke the Cyberpunk record.
