In an interview with People, actress Kate Walsh commented on a possible return of Addison Montgomery to Gray’s Anatomy.
The character joined the cast of ABC’s medical drama at the end of the first season of the series, arriving as a major stumbling block in the love relationship between Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey).
With great popularity, Addison starred in the spin-off Private Practice, becoming one of the favorite characters of fans of the production. However, due to the unexpected returns of several characters in the 17th season of Gray’s Anatomy, many speculate a possible return of the doctor played by Kate Walsh.
“If [the producers] could do that, I would be happy to come back,” she commented during the interview. In this way, the actress shows that she is open to new ideas about Addison Montgomery, leaving viewers quite excited about the possibility.
Kate Walsh says Gray’s Anatomy changed her life
Throughout the conversation, the actress took the opportunity to talk about how the first days were playing the particular neonatal surgeon who also presented herself as the ex-wife of the protagonist’s love interest.
According to her, the animation was not so great in the beginning, but gradually it was conquered by the dynamics between the characters. “Seven years later and I see that [Gray’s Anatomy] has definitely changed my life,” she added.
Even so, it is worth mentioning that the series created by Shonda Rhimes has changed a lot since the last episode that Addison appeared. The 17th season has been focusing on more intense dramas, showing the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
It has been a great season for fans, especially as the producers have managed to keep big returns secret until the broadcast on TV.
