This Tuesday (07), World Health Day, Google decided to honor the professionals who are on the front line in the fight against the covid-19. In gratitude for the dedication of these people, the company launched a video on YouTube and a special Doodle on its homepage.
In the video, entitled “to all health professionals, thank you”, Google highlighted the main terms searched in Brazil and in the world in times of covid-19. Among them are “how to flatten the curve”, “how to help hospitals” and “how to help medical teams”.
The production showed images and testimonies from Brazilian doctors and scientists and, at the end of the video, scenes of applause that were repeated throughout Brazil in honor of these professionals.
The initiative is part of a global series of Google Doodles that began on Monday (06) to honor several employees who are helping to maintain essential services to society, such as those in the parcel and food delivery sector.
With the increase in the number of transmissions and confirmed cases around the world, the Google search engine started to show an SOS Alert panel with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health when the user searches for terms related to the pandemic.
The objective of this initiative is to make information from official sources available quickly, about symptoms, ways of contagion, treatment and prevention of the disease. The panel, which includes statistics, overview and other data, now brings the “Follow 5 tips” campaign under the “Prevention” tab.
This campaign focuses on informing important pillars to face the current pandemic safely, using the following tips: washing your hands frequently; use the inside of your elbow to cover your cough; do not touch the face when you are on the street; maintaining a safe distance from people and, above all, not leaving the house unless it is extremely necessary.
