Google Chrome 96 released! Here’s what’s new!

Google Chrome, the most used internet browser in the world, has received its 96th update. Here are the innovations…

Google Chrome, the most preferred internet browser in the world with approximately 2.65 billion users, leaves many of its competitors behind with the features it offers. The biggest reason for this is the innovations that the company is constantly working on. Finally, it released its update 96 today. With the update, innovations were added to the desktop and mobile versions of Google Chrome.

Google had reduced the update times from 6 weeks to 4 weeks in the past months. However, we started seeing a new version of Google Chrome every month. In this way, the popular internet browser started to keep itself updated and to fix security vulnerabilities quickly. Some issues have been fixed with this update.

Backward caching feature

With this new update, the backward cache feature came to the desktop. As you know, moving with the browser’s back and forth buttons can sometimes be slow. With the new update, Google Chrome has a cache that saves the sites we have visited recently.

In this way, you will be able to navigate between websites with less time wasted. This will be possible for compatible websites. Besides, because of its cache feature, Google Chrome will use more of your RAM. This feature was previously available to users in the mobile 86th update of Google Chrome.

Dark theme option for every website

In the new version of Google Chrome, a new development regarding the dark theme for mobile devices has arrived. You can activate this feature by typing “chrome://flags/#darken-websites-checkbox-in-themes-setting” in the search bar. When you activate the feature, you will see the dark theme button from the menu next to the search bar. You can change the theme with this button.

This feature should not be confused with the dark theme of the website itself. This feature is offered by Google Chrome and when applying it on some websites, problems may occur in the content. For example, some content may become unreadable due to its color.

New zoom feature for websites

As you know, zooming websites on desktop is quite easy. However, this is not the case on mobile. With the new update, users will be able to zoom in and out on a page-by-page basis. Before the update, only the zoom option was available for all websites. In this way, Google Chrome will be more useful on mobile.

With this update, PNG metadata protection and Photo memories features have also been added. Improvements have also been made for Advanced Web Applications. In this way, Google Chrome has gained a stronger and more secure structure. So, what are your thoughts? What do you think about the new features?
