Google Pixel 4A is the name of the new Google phone to compete in the basic segment. The smartphone was announced today (03) for the suggested price of US $ 349 (R $ 1,850 in direct conversion). The successor to the Pixel 3A offers only a rear camera and a 5.8 inch screen. US stores will begin selling it on August 20. However, the company informed that “there is no forecast” to bring it to Brazil.
The tech giant also confirmed that the Google Pixel 5 is on its way and that it will be compatible with 5G internet, but gave no details.
In the technical sheet, the sacrifices to fit the Pixel 4A in a more accessible market range are apparent. For starters, the phone has no camera combo on the back, using only a 12 MP main sensor (f / 1.7 aperture). The compensation here is the use of Google’s praised image technology, which yields high-quality photos, even without multiple sensors – even with a special mode for neat photographs of the night sky.
Also on the back face is the smartphone’s digital reader. In the front panel, the user finds a Full HD screen in 16: 9 format, more traditional and without the narrower footprint of devices with higher screens. The display uses an OLED panel and has a hole at the top for the 8 MP front camera.
The phone comes with 6 GB RAM and uses a Snapdragon 730G (Qualcomm) processor, an octa-core that runs up to 2 GHz on its two main cores. For storage, there are 128 GB of capacity – without expansion by microSD.
The Pixel 4A battery has a capacity of 3,140 mAh and a fast charger of 18 Watts. In networks, the phone has Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC, in addition to 4G. As we mentioned earlier, an edition with 5G should appear in the coming months.
