Game of Thrones season 8: we know why Drogon melted the Iron Throne!

Indeed, the story did not end well for the mother of the dragons.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones was marked by the death of Daenerys. Indeed, the young woman burned King’s Landing and she killed many people. Thus, she became all she feared: the Mad Queen. As a result, Jon Snow had to intervene to preserve his family and the people and he killed Daenerys in the Throne Room. After Dany’s death, Drogon arrived in the room and melted the Iron Throne.

This scene marked the end of the succession of kings at Winterfell. In Season 8 of Game of Thrones, everyone thought that Drogon had melted the Throne because it represented the corruption of Daenerys. Indeed, the power has blinded the mother of the dragons. She got lost because of the Iron Throne. However, David Benioff, the showrunner gave a completely different explanation. “If Daenerys does not sit on it, then no one will sit on it,” he said.

So, according to the Game of Thrones showrunner, Drogon did not destroy the Iron Throne because he was sad. He did it because no one else was to come on that throne. However, Drogon did a good job by founding the Iron Throne. Indeed, this marked the beginning of a new era in the series!
