Users of the waterway transport service provided by CCR Barcas in Rio de Janeiro and Niterói will now have another convenience in boarding from now on. The private company has entered into a partnership with Visa that will allow the concessionaire’s customers to board by paying with the financial services company’s prepaid, debit or credit cards.
This facility is available from today, August 3, and can be used at Arariboia stations, in Niterói and at Praça XV, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to payment for approaching cards, users can also pay for tickets with their smartphones, provided they have support for NFC technology and are properly configured to perform contactless financial transactions – that is, without direct contact with machines or other accessories. .
After touching the cell phone or card to the ratchet reader, the amount will be automatically charged to the credit card statement or the user’s current account, depending on what has been configured on the device or the type of card used.
It is worth remembering that this is not the only public service that operates in Rio de Janeiro that allows this type of facility. Since last year, MetrôRio has already allowed payment by Visa debit or prepaid cards. Mastercard card users also have this service.
