Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has said Manchester United are focused on keeping Marcus Rashford after another great performance by United’s No. 10 last night.
The Red Devils beat Charlton 3-0 in the League Cup and advanced to the semi-final stage of the competition.
Despite the fact that Rashford entered the field only in the 60th minute, he showed the best result of the match, scoring a double in the last moments of the game.
He connected well with Facundo Pellistri for the first, who made his debut for the Reds last night. Pellistri ran brilliantly and slipped in a pass to Rashford, who shot past the Charlton goalkeeper.
Casemiro assisted in the second, and the finish was similar to the first.
This season he scored 15 goals and made 6 assists in 25 matches for Manchester United.
Because of this, Romano says that the birth and upbringing of a Mancunian to sign a new contract is Ten Haga’s top priority.
On Twitter, the Italian quoted Ten Hag as saying: “He is a key player. He won’t leave.” Ten Hug made it clear in meetings with the Manchester United board last June… and Marcus Rashford is literally flying.”

He has undoubtedly played an important role in United’s success this season and has scored in every match he has played in since domestic competition resumed after the World Cup.
Even though deep into the January transfer window and the focus of the press was how Ten Hag might add to this squad, it would seem that retaining players like Rashford might be a more pressing issue behind the scenes.
Ten Hag hopes he can work his magic again against City in the league this weekend.
