It was a busy day for Manchester United’s women as they announced their second transfer window signing just hours after they introduced Jayde Riviere.
Estelle Cascarino joined the Reds on loan from PSG until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has spent the last two seasons at PSG, and previously played for Bordeaux, Paris and Olympique Lyonnais, winning two Division 1 titles and two French Cups during her career.
The French national team made its debut for their country in 2017, having previously represented France in all age groups from under 16 and older.
Speaking about her move to United, she said: “I am so happy and glad to be here. I want to grow as a player and a person and help the team win trophies.”
She continued: “I’m a fighter on the field and I like to help the team both offensively and defensively. I can’t wait to start here in England.”
Manager Mark Skinner said: “In the summer we played against Estelle in the Toulouse Cup and it was clear that she could add to our group.”
He added: “Estelle will add quality and versatility both in and out of possession. She can play in midfield or in the center of defense with excellent technique and calmness, which is inherent in a player who believes in his strength.
“We are looking forward to working with Estelle as we are building a highly competitive and visionary team.”
Polly Bancroft, head of women’s football, said: “Estelle is a proven winner who can offer our team key positional options as we strive for a strong finish to the second half of the season.”
She continued: “Her experience will undoubtedly prove invaluable to the band and we are delighted to welcome her to United.
United are hoping to secure Champions League participation next season by finishing in the top three this year. Both Riviere and Cascarino will be huge assets for Skinner’s team and should help the Reds strengthen their positions in the WSL.
