Erik Ten Hag was pleased with Manchester United’s semi-final victory over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup.

United scored a comfortable 3-0 victory in the first leg away from the City Ground.

In his post-match interview, Ten Hag shared his opinion about his team’s performance.

“I’m happy with the performance and I think we controlled it for 90 minutes.”

However, the United boss was unhappy with the way his team reacted to Forest’s change in tactics.

He said that he wants his team to be more tactically competent and adapt to the situation.

“There was one moment that could have changed the game, and that’s where we need to improve, but overall we controlled the situation.”

“They changed the system, and we didn’t expect it. This can’t be happening. It’s still a moment where we have to learn and improve as a team if you want to be at the top. There can be no such moments.”

“We almost let them get into the game, and we can’t let the opponent get back into the game when we started so well. We dictated it, and at one point it may change. We need to avoid this.”

Ten Hag then praised Marcus Rashford, who continued his productive game by scoring an outstanding solo goal.

“In such a mood and with such a spirit, it is impossible to stop him.”

“Get creative in the last third to do something in the last third, some crazy stuff, fantasies and adventures.”

“We have already planned the Rashford submarine. He did his game, he did his job.”
