The Mustang Mach-E, Ford’s new electric coupe SUV, will be more powerful and faster than we expected. Based on information leaked on the Mach-E forum and released by Autoblog, at least two of the five versions of this car will have improvements.
The Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, more equipped version, went from 57.6 kgfm of torque to 59 kgfm, in addition to gaining 14 horsepower reaching 346 horses. The Select, the most basic version of the Mustang, will deliver 266 horsepower and 43.8 kgfm of torque, compared to the previous 42.3 kgfm.
Initially, Ford hinted that the Mach-E was ready and that there would be no need for extra changes. The automaker’s original proposal was already somewhat daring in a number of details, especially in terms of design. After all, it is a classic in the electric SUV version.
The Mach-E is a point outside the curve of the Mustang family. But, despite departing from the original concept, it presents some features of Muscle with a Tesla-style modernism. We are talking about a car that does not need doorknobs, with doors that open when approaching the driver’s cell phone.
If the rumors raised by the Autoblog are confirmed, the new electric SUV will have a few tenths less in the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h and deliver higher maximum speeds – a modest, but unique improvement in such a competitive market.
Models range between $ 34,895 for the entry-level version and $ 60,500 for the more equipped version, prices considered reasonable for high-performance electric cars. According to Ford, the Mustang Mach-E is expected to launch in 2021, but it is not yet known exactly when this model will go on sale.
