Doria says vaccine against covid-19 will be mandatory

During a press conference this Monday (21st), João Doria (PSDB) stated that the vaccine against the new Coronavirus should be mandatory for the entire population. The governor’s speech confronts the comment of the President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro (without party), who defended the optional application of the immunizer.

The state governor believes that all 40 million inhabitants of São Paulo will be vaccinated by February, a hypothesis reiterated by health authorities also present at the conference.

“The vaccine must be mandatory. There is no reason to make the federal government decide not to take the mandatory vaccine, ”commented João Doria. “It just should not be mandatory for those who, by a medical report, by a medical certificate, indicate that he should not get the vaccine. Otherwise, it must be mandatory, yes ”, he added.

In August this year, President Jair Bolsonaro commented at the entrance to the Palácio da Alvorada that “no one can force anyone to get a vaccine” to a supporter who mentioned “this vaccine business” as something dangerous and potentially harmful.
