Liverpool and Chelsea drew 0-0 at Anfield at lunchtime on Saturday and fans were disappointed with another below-par performance by the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have kept two clean matches at the moment, but are still waiting for their first league win in 2023.
It was a game with very few clear opportunities: Kai Havertz saw that his early shot was not counted due to offside.
Another game, another performance that didn’t impress the Liverpool fans.
Did Elliot lose his position?
Liverpool’s attack was structured so that Harvey Elliott was positioned to the left of the attack, Mo Salah was on the right, and Cody Gakpo was in the center.
Fans weren’t convinced Elliott was the right fit for the role, with the obvious decision to switch him to the right where he impressed against Wolves on Tuesday:
Feels like the balance of this front three is way off. Elliott right, Gakpo left and Salah through the middle would surely make more sense.

Bad, bad football game
As for the zero draws, it was as boring as possible:
A hideous game. Will forget it ever even existed in no time.

These teams played out two engrossing, high-quality 0-0 draws last season – but this was so far from that. Chelsea might hope their incredible spending can get them back there quickly but Liverpool are surely now just waiting for their injuries to ease for any improvement.

The shadow of the Liverpool team we know
It’s hard not to feel disappointed with what we’re seeing from Liverpool right now.
This team was two games short of winning last season.
Better than last week though..small steps.. but steps non the less

One Liverpool player has scored a goal in the last four league games. Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Klopp decided to trust the same three midfielders who impressed with Tuesday’s FA Cup victory over Wolverhampton.
And although his team showed more fight than in the shameful defeat by Brighton last weekend, it was another clear example of how far Liverpool are from the heights they have reached in recent years.
Then another trip to Brighton for the FA Cup fourth round next Sunday. Improvements are required, quickly…
