Manchester United’s stated goal Denzel Dumfries was a key player of Inter Milan, who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last night, holding out with a score of 0:0 in the second leg of the 1/8 final against Porto.
Inter withstood wave after wave of attacks from the Portuguese and took advantage of luck, making several shots at the crossbar and the post in the second half.
Dumfries saved what looked like a sure goal at the death by knocking the ball off the line after a Tony Martinez strike.
Nevertheless, the overall performance of the Dutchman left much to be desired, and it was not the best of the auditions for a move to Old Trafford for 50 million euros.
Many of Porto’s most dangerous attacks came from the left flank, and Dumfries, being an outfield defender, did little to help their attackers.
The player of the Netherlands national team registered only 53% of the transmission accuracy in the game.
He did not score a single long ball and won only 1 of 3 ground duels.
He also lost the ball 17 times and did not make a single tackle (source of statistics: sofa score).
The 26-year-old also gave the ball away from the penalty spot in vain.
There was a hilarious moment in the second half when, after fouling Galeno, Dumfries managed to pull the opponent’s shorts down to his ankles.

It was reported that United boss Erik ten Hag was looking for a right-back last summer, and it seemed that Aaron Van Bissaka did not meet the requirements at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, this season the Englishman has gained form and is now neck and neck with Diogo Dalot for the starting spot. Neither, however, is as convincing as they should be at the moment.
But at this screening, Dumfries is not the solution, especially considering the price, which is reportedly 50 million euros. However, he may have a good future in pantomime, given his nimble puffing skills.
