Daredevil: During an interview with The Pop Culture Spotlight, actor Charlie Cox commented on rumors of Daredevil’s possible return to the Marvel multiverse, giving details about how he would envision the hero’s appearance in a new studio project.
Since the cancellation of the Daredevil series by Netflix, fans have been asking Marvel for an introduction of the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante on the MCU, being included in one of the Avengers movies and in a canonical work. After indications that the hero would be present in Spider-Man: No Return Home, Charlie Cox’s character was once again in the spotlight, and the actor saw it as the perfect opportunity to provoke the audience.
“What happens in comics is that a writer and an artist come together for a series of comics, so they’re going to do 10 issues, 20 issues…” Cox said. in any case, I imagine it would be a re-imagining of the character and the show. If they choose me to do that, there will be some elements that are, of course, the same. Or they can choose someone else and start over again.”
In the same way that Cox seemed excited to discuss the hero’s return, he left in the air a slightly pessimistic view about the new possibilities, suggesting that even with a re-emergence of the Fearless Man in a mega movie production, things could be slightly different, even to the point of displeasing fans.
“You have to be careful what you wish for,” he said. “You come back and it’s not that good or it doesn’t work that well or… too much time has passed, things don’t fit together the same way. You don’t want to tarnish what you already have. If we never come back, you have these three great seasons — and our third season was the highest rated [by critics]. So the trajectory went up. I am incredibly proud and grateful for what we have.”
