Jamie Foxx’s new comedy, Netflix’s Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! Has been given a debut date. The first season, consisting of 8 episodes of 30 minutes, will be available on April 14, a Wednesday.
The series is based on the actor’s relationship with his own daughter, Corinne Foxx. The sitcom accompanies Brian Dixon, played by Foxx, a successful single businessman who suddenly becomes a full-time father to Sasha, his teenage daughter, played by Kyla-Drew Simmons.
So that he can do a good job and adapt the girl to his life and his new home, Brian asks for help from his father, played by David Alan Grier, and his sister, played by Porscha Coleman.
In February of last year, the project began to be carried out, with the formation of the team and the filming scheduled to begin. However, due to the pandemic, all production was paused.

The Netflix comedy features Jamie and Corinne Foxx as executive producers alongside Ken Whittingham, who also directed the episodes, and Alex Avant. In addition, following his partnership with the lead actor in his 90s comedy The Jamie Foxx Show, Bentley Kyle Evans will act as a showrunner.
The cast of the series also includes Jonathan Kite, Heather Hemmens and Valente Rodriguez.
With some attempts to expand its sitcom catalog, Netflix has not been as successful, as Ashley Garcia’s recent The Expanding Universe and The Big Show Show were canceled after just one season. However, the success of Fuller House, a Full House reboot, spurred streaming to keep trying.
