As a result of the quarantine, many people have been encouraged to watch Steven Soderbergh’s 2011 film Contagion. The director has just told the Los Angeles Times that the information he collected for the film has not been enough to predict society’s behavior towards the coronavirus:

“It has been fascinating to see aspects of this narrative that we did not think about. Social behavior, how people behave as individuals, the measures of states, countries …

“Scott and I had very strict rules about points of view and what we could and couldn’t see. Now we are seeing human behavior that did not even occur to us when we were making the film. ”

“It is a reminder of how deeply irrational we are. When we are confronted with a threat that makes us feel fear, we become deeply illogical. It’s crazy to witness it ”
