Although Chris Hemsworth is perhaps best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel cinematic universe, he is not the only one who makes headlines about his professional and personal life. And his wife Elsa Pataky recently responded to rumors that Miley Cyrus’ hit single “Flowers” is dedicated to Liam.
Pop star and actress Miley Cyrus is known to have dated Liam Hemsworth from time to time since 2009, and eventually got married. But in 2019, they broke up, and fans have long assumed that her new breakup anthem “Flowers” was about the “Hunger Games” actor. Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky was recently asked about the song while attending an event in Spain (via Hola), where she said:
This is a very old topic for us. If anyone should be talking, it should be Liam, but I think she [Cyrus] can do whatever she wants.
Here it is. It seems that Elsa Pataky did not want to interfere in the ongoing discourse around her son-in-law Liam Hemsworth and his ex Miley Cyrus. This is certainly a cool approach, although smart money says that questions may arise in the foreseeable future. After all, “Flowers” continues to be one of the most popular songs on the charts even now.
Elsa Pataky’s comments about Liam Hemsworth’s “Flowers” rumors seem to offer an update on the state of her relationship with Miley Cyrus. It seems that the two didn’t really keep in touch, which is understandable under the circumstances. After all, a relationship with her mother-in-law is often built on intimacy, and Miley is no longer part of the Hemsworth clan.
Considering how long Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship has lasted, it makes sense that the public is still fascinated by their story. And when “Flowers” was released and became a real breakup song, interest was revived again. You can watch Cyrus’ video on the hit single below:
Rumors that Liam Hemsworth is the hero of “Flowers” are obviously related to the fact that Miley Cyrus has been dating the 33-year-old actor for so long. In addition, the lyrics of the chorus seem to be taken from the Bruno Mars song “When I Was Your Man”, to which the couple reportedly danced at their wedding.
The verse “Flowers” also hints at Miley Cyrus’ relationship with Liam Hemsworth. For example, one text seems to mention their famous burned-down house back in 2019. They read:
We were right until we were wrong. Built a house and watched it burn.
For his part, Liam Hemsworth does not seem to have reacted in any way to the fact that his relationship may be mentioned in Miley Cyrus’ popular new single. Perhaps it was for this reason that Elsa Pataky kept her cards to herself, despite knowing both sides. Hey, this is one way to stay on good terms with your mother-in-law.
