Cyberpunk 2077 is still present in the plans of the Polish study. The new generation version is still scheduled for the first quarter of 2022. Cyberpunk 2077 is still very present in CD Projekt Red’s medium and long-term plans. The Poles once again influence the work that the team is doing on the current version and the future next-generation edition, scheduled for sometime in the first quarter. of 2022. They do it through the fiscal results of the Q3 of this year.
Cyberpunk 2077 in the coming months
“We are working hard on the next generation version of Cyberpunk, scheduled for release in Q1 2022, along with another major update for all platforms,” reveals Adam Kicinski, president and CEO of CD Projekt group. “We are also working on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 and the Cyberpunk expansion. In parallel, we are carrying out the transformation of our engineer, which is affecting more and more production teams ”.
It is not the first time that Kicinski has spoken publicly about the expansion. Last September he commented that the team “strongly believes in the long-term potential of this IP” and that is why they are working on expansion, although he could not “say anything” at the time. During 2020 we already knew about the change of plans in its roadmap. At first they planned to announce the contents before launch. The problems and the desire “to attend to the players” led to a change of direction.
The independent multiplayer based on the Cyberpunk universe has been definitively canceled. Therefore, there are two expansions of 2077 on the horizon. This pair of experiences “will have no less” content than Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine, from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We will have to wait until 2022 to find out in detail what the Poles will propose.
