There were rumors that Disney would finance another sequel to “Tron” in a few years. Fans were initially excited because although the franchise isn’t as famous as Star Wars, it still has a pretty solid fan base. However, with the latest announcement that Jared Leto will play the main role in the sequel to “Tron”, people were upset about the casting.

The first film was released in 1982, just a few years after the giant success of “Star Wars”. Of course, the latter eclipsed him, and he was moderately successful. Disney released “Tron: Legacy” a few years later, in 2010. While the visuals were stellar, the plot and dialogues didn’t match the effects. It had a common plot and a common hero. Now that Leto has joined the sequel, fans can’t help but expect the same or worse.

Fans react to the news that Jared Leto will headline Tron Ares

After the less-than-stellar role of Jared Leto in Morbius, fans believe that the actor is overrated. It is widely believed that everything he touches does not turn golden, but quite the opposite.

His role as Morbius in the MCU film was sharply criticized. Both critics and the public criticized the film and its performance. It is considered one of the worst superhero movies of all time and has a C+ rating. Even during the release of this film, fans were outraged that the studio chose him. In fact, like Disney, DC is obsessed with angering fans with their decision to keep Ezra Miller.

The participant of “Thirty Seconds to Mars” also performed the ambitious role of the Joker in “Suicide Squad”. But he was often compared to his predecessor Heath Ledger, who immortalized this role. He wasn’t convincing as a terrifying madman, but he just looked like a man who had put on clown makeup.

According to Deadline, Disney has reportedly hired Norwegian director Joachim Ronning. This is his fourth collaboration with Disney. Jesse Vigutou is acting as a screenwriter. Sam Dickerman and Sean Bailey are executive producers. Justin Springer and Emma Ladbrooke also joined the project as producers.
