Amid the quarantine due to the new coronavirus, Canon announced the arrival of Mega Tank printers, focused on the home office. The models are of the ink tank type and are part of the SOHO line (acronym for Small Office Home Office, in English), promising to make life easier for those who are working from home at the moment. With the new machines, the manufacturer promises reduced size, Wi-Fi connectivity and high efficiency. The products are already available to buy in Brazil, with prices from R $ 1,399, for the GM2010 version, up to R $ 1,499, value of the Mega Tank G6010 multifunctional.
The G6010 has leak-resistant ink bottles that can yield up to 8,300 pages in draft mode. The machine can also work with GI-10 ink cartridges in black, cyan, magenta and yellow, with a capacity of about 7,700 pages and a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi for color prints. Regarding speed, the device promises rates of 13 sheets per minute in black and white or 6.8 in color.
The model also allows automatic two-sided printing and paper storage in the front drawer or rear tray, with a capacity of 350 sheets of plain paper. Measuring 40.4 x 36.1 x 19.5 cm and weighing 8 kg, the device promises to be interesting for working at home or in small offices. The G6010 offers connections via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi, and is compatible with the Canon Print Inkjet / Selphy app, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.
GM2010, in turn, is monochrome, but it can also print in color with CL-141 cartridges, which can be purchased separately. The product promises to render up to 8,300 pages in draft mode and the speeds are the same as the line’s multifunctional option, 13 sheets per minute in black and white or 6.8 in color.
Both devices are compatible with different paper sizes, such as A4, A5, B5, letter, legal, No. 10 envelopes and business card, as well as personalized options up to 215.9 x 297 mm. The G6010 multifunctional, in turn, also accepts sheets of 10 x 15 cm, 13 x 18 cm, 18 x 25 cm and 20 x 25 cm.
