Brighton – Liverpool 3:0: Player Ratings – What The Media and Statistics Say

After Liverpool’s terrible 3-0 defeat at Brighton, no one left with their reputation intact, as each of them showed a terrible result.

The Reds needed a response after a string of disappointing performances, but in the first half they were terrible, considering that they were lucky that they did not fall behind.

Shortly after the restart, Brighton took the lead, as Solly March scored a goal after a mistake by Joel Matip, and then the midfielder doubled the home advantage.

Since then, Liverpool have remained lifeless, and Danny Welbeck made the score 3-0 late, which was perhaps the most alarming, but at the same time predictable result of the season.

Here we compare our player ratings with those of Liverpool Echo, WhoScored, FotMob and This Is Anfield readers.

It wasn’t a day to focus on anything positive, on a treacherous afternoon on the south coast.

It was a terrible day for Matip (3.5), who got the lowest average score after one of his worst performances for Liverpool.

The central defender was terrible for March’s first goal, and he was passed by too often, looking like one of the many players who missed their best times.

Ian Doyle of Echo gave Matip just three out of 10 points, saying he was “all over” and “terrible” for a beginner.

According to FotMob, the 31-year-old played only one accurate long-range pass out of five attempts, summing up Liverpool’s profligacy.

The second worst player was Jordan Henderson (3.9), who again looked into the sea both with and without the ball.

In our TIA ratings, we admitted that we “lost count of the number of “branded “hoof balls” made by the captain.

Fabinho (4,4) was considered the third worst Liverpool player, but Doyle stood up for the Brazilian, admitting that his teammates “did not help him.”

In terms of the best player, who, to put it mildly, clings to straws, Ibrahima Konate (5,7) received the best overall rating.

Next for Liverpool on Tuesday will be the replay of the third round of the FA Cup with Wolverhampton (19:45, Great Britain), which should be fun!
