Last week, the last season of “Love is Blind” began, and one of the participants, Zack, had problems choosing between two women: Irina and Bliss. While the 31-year-old criminal lawyer eventually proposed to Irina and went to Mexico with her, it became clear that the couple did not get along. So when, ahead of this week’s episodes, he was teased that he had decided to meet Bliss, it was an exciting development for the Netflix series. However, what was going through Bliss’s mind during all this?
CinemaBlend spoke with Bliss Purezadi when the latest batch of episodes of “Love is Blind” became available to viewers with a Netflix subscription. During our conversation about her dating experiment experience, Bliss mentioned the moment she first met Zach in the restaurant scene opening episode 6. According to her:
It was insanely surreal. All the revelations took place in the capsule, and thus we saw each other in person for the first time. It was public, so there were all these people there, and it was stressful, and I was so, so nervous. But at that moment when our eyes kind of met, and it was so stupid, and I’m like, it’s just a cliche and stupidity, but in fact it’s true. As if it was such an intense connection. It was as if there was so much chemistry in it, and a simple magnification, as if the world had disappeared, like in a movie. And I think you can see me smiling, but I’m kind of trying to suppress a smile.
Bliss’s memories of meeting Zach for the first time sound the opposite of what Irina experienced when they first met each other in person. During the first episodes of the 4th season of “Love is Blind”, Irina immediately compared Zack to a “cartoon character” and asked him not to look into her eyes. However, it seems that sparks did indeed fly between Bliss and Zach when they met, although this was not the typical way that members of Love Is Blind usually meet. Bliss also supported their conversation.
He really eloquently explained what had happened. And he really earned my trust and faith in his honesty. So I was ready to listen to him, which I did. And it ended great, but in fact it’s a story about a second chance and how we all deserved it. We all needed a second chance. So I was ready to give him this opportunity.
In the last episodes of season 4 (opens in a new tab), Bliss and Zach get a chance to explore their connection in real life, and they get a “second chance” to find the love they’ve been striving for. Recalling the timeline between rejection and returning to the show, Bliss told us the following:
So I think it was something like four or five days in Mexico… It was so long ago, but not very long ago. Definitely no more than 10 days from the moment of my departure to the moment when I was contacted. That’s pretty fast. And you know, I was surprised when they contacted me, although I feel that deep down I knew that I was his person, and I feel that he knew it too. I didn’t expect to go back to the experiment, so it was definitely amazing.
Although Zach didn’t make the right choice the first time, it will be very interesting to see if he and Bliss decide to continue the experiment together and maybe even get married after the failure with Irina. Given the way Bliss talked about her connection to Zach, it seems like the two might have had the opportunity to actually find their identity in each other—even if their journey there was atypical.
And, of course, there are four more couples that we will continue to follow this season: Tiffany and Brett, Mika and Paul, Chelsea and Kwame, Jackie and Marshall, the last of whom experienced some serious emotional moments at the beginning of their vacation in Mexico. Last season, two couples from season 3 of “Love is Blind” managed to get married and stay together, so there are certainly some real love stories originating from the Netflix dating show. We’ll keep you updated on this season’s events here on CinemaBlend.
