On January 17, Givenchy announced that BIGBANG’s Taeyang would be their new global ambassador.
Moreover, it will make Taeyang the first South Korean male artist to play this role.

Givenchy Creative Director Matthew Williams praised Taeyang for his artistry. He added that the idol’s manner of self-expression fits perfectly into the current Givenchy aesthetic.

The selection of Taeyang is the fashion brand’s third major announcement this week after the appointment of Suga from BTS by Valentino and the appointment of Jimin as a global ambassador for Dior.

On January 13, Taeyang collaborated with BTS’s Jimin on the hit “Vibe”.
The video for “Vibe” has now gained a total of 47,775,437 views on YouTube. The single performed well in the charts of Korea and quickly rose to the top of the iTunes charts in 60 countries.
