On the night of Saturday (March 4), a crowd crush broke out at a Glorilla concert in Rochester, New York, as a result of which one person was killed and eight were injured.

The incident occurred at about 23:00 local time in the Main Street Armory, when concert-goers were leaving the show. Police told the Associated Press that there was panic in the crowd after they thought they heard gunshots, which led to a rush to the exit. However, investigators “found no evidence that the shooting took place,” and none of the victims had gunshot wounds.

As a result of the incident, a 33-year-old woman was killed, two more are in hospital in serious condition. Six others were taken to the hospital, they were treated with non-life-threatening injuries.

Glorilla responded to the incident on Twitter by writing: “I’m just now hearing about what happened, I’m praying that everything will be okay.”

Elsewhere, at a previous show at Irving Plaza in New York, Glorilla welcomed her co-star Cardi B on stage in New York this week to perform “Tomorrow 2” -check out footage of their performance here.

The performance took place after Glorilla performed at the Grammys 2023 this month, where she took part in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop along with Missy Elliott, The Roots, Future, Lil Wayne and many others.

Praising Glorilla in NME 100 2023, Kayann-Shian Williams wrote: “In just eight months, Glorilla has achieved more than a typical rising star: after the breakthrough single “FNF” made her a damn hot name in the US rap world, while the follow-up “Tomorrow 2” is the anthem of a party in which she teamed up with her “cousin” and mentor Cardi B — stormed the US charts.”
