Ariana Grande had much to thank for this Thanksgiving, celebrated last Thursday (28) in the United States. For the first time in 18 years, she passed the date alongside her mother and father, who are separated. The singer posted a picture beside them on Instagram Stories.

Ariana’s father, Edward Butera, also made a point of leaving this moment recorded. He published a photo next to his daughter, in black and white, with the caption “No word can explain happiness.”

In an interview with Seventeen magazine in 2014, Ariana spoke briefly about her relationship with her father. At the time, she stated that they had lost contact a year earlier. “It’s private, it took me a long time to be okay with that. What led me to this was embracing the fact that I am half of my father and many of my features come from him. Much of me comes from my father, and for a long time I didn’t like it. I had to accept that it’s okay not to get along with everyone and still love people. ”

But it seems that things between the two have been right recently. The singer has already posted some pictures of her father on Sweetener tour shows, as well as mentioning him in the song “thank u, next”.
