Ariana Grande confirms that “Bad To You” would be a collaboration with Dua Lipa and explains why it didn’t happen. Ariana Grande did the entire executive production of the soundtrack for the new version of the movie “As Panteras”, providing a series of partnerships. One of the most anticipated songs is “Bad To You,” a collaboration of her own with Normani and Nicki Minaj. However, originally the song would be with someone else: Dua Lipa.
On her Twitter, Ariana responded to a fan confirming that Dua was before. “It is true! I loved our version too. Time didn’t align with her project (which I’m very excited about), but they really wanted it in the movie, so we formed a new cast. Mani and Nicki, of course, rocked it. It would have been fun with all of us, ”she explained.
The most connected fans had already heard an excerpt of the demo song that came out in April. In January 2018, Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa posted a photo together, which had already started speculation about a partnership. On the same day, Dua Lipa started following Instagram composers Savan Kotecha and Ilya Salmanzadeh, who are longtime collaborators of Ariana. Everything indicated that she appeared on the album “Sweetener”, which did not happen.
The soundtrack for “As Panthers” comes out on November 3rd.
